Costa Rica carried out its first export of dairy products to China

Dos Pinos company is one of the most renowned and ancient country, leader in dairy.
This week was the first shipment of milk 100% Costa Rican Asian giant: China. The cooperative of producers of milk two pines R.L is intended to publicize their products in a very different market than the national, on the other side of the world.

This first shipment went to Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Tianjing.

Based on that level of response we will begin a process of geographic coverage and brand development in China, which undoubtedly opens a window of opportunity for cities such as Hong Kong and Macau and other Asia countries such as Singapore, with which Costa Rica has a free Trade” said Jorge Pattoni, general manager of Dos Pinos.
The plan is that Dos Pinos starts exporting butter, juices and nectar before end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture of Costa Rica, Gloria Abraham said that: "the achievement of the two pine trees is a firm step in the process of inserting our companies and food producers in a market as big as China, whose authorities have expressed interest in significantly increasing the levels of marketing with our countries. We will continue to support our sector in this goal through our animal health services and we are confident that in a short time, not only the Dos Pinos increase your sales and strengthen a niche in that huge market, but it we can announce the entry of other origin products agriculture, like pineapple, melon and meat".
A challenge for Costa Ricans is the good management of marketing in China, there is a varied competition, with products from other parts of the world. Two pine trees should work in that Chinese citizens will be able to identify with the brand.

Thousands of tourists entered the country on Easter

"It's more 113.000 leaving the country and more than 85,000 entering neatly for our migrant jobs. This says much of the orderly and efficient work that has been given in the country these days of Easter" said Montero.
In Costa Rica are two airports of great importance for the tourists, the international Daniel Oduber airport in Liberia, Guanacaste, and strategic point for those visitors wishing to visit the region of the North Pacific. This airport recorded an income of 24 000 people during this Easter 2013.
For visitors wishing to spend more time in the region of the Central Pacific, the Juan Santa Maria International Airport is located only one hour from this area. This same airport was which recorded higher number of inputs and outputs (95 000) during Holy week.
Due to the large population of Nicaraguans living in Costa Rica, the Penas Blancas border post, bordering Nicaragua accounted for more than 60 000 people during the week.

President Brack Obama will visit Costa Rica in May

The last President to visit Costa Rica was Bill Clinton during his tenure in 1997.
The U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Costa Rica the first week of May, in the framework of the Summit of the System of Central American Integration (SICA), where they will discuss issues related to the promotion of economic growth and regional cooperation on the issue of public safety.
Obama not only will visit Costa Rica, but that this responds to a tour of several Latin American countries, including Mexico, country that will visit prior to play Costa Rican soil. Also at the Summit of SICA will participate the Presidents of Central America.
During your visit, Barack Obama will have a bilateral meeting with the President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, who mentioned that "for Costa Rica will always be an honor to receive President Obama" and recalled that "on several occasions have signaled our interest because it is through this visit, reason that since the possibility was opened have put us in contact with other Presidents in the region to ensure that it will be a success".
The official visit by Obama was confirmed directly from the White House in Washington, DC and is planned for 3 days and 4 may, it was reported also that during these visits is intended to the President to strengthen relations with the isthmus.
For his part, Foreign Minister Enrique Castillo, said that the visit of Obama represents a recognition of the leadership of the country and President Laura Chinchilla" in the region.
The last time President Laura Chinchilla met Barack Obama was at the Summit of the Americas, almost a year ago, in the month of April 2012.
The first American President to visit Costa Rica was John F. Kennedy in 1963.
