Costa Rica receives more than 2 million tourists a year from all over the world.
According to data from the Central American promotion of Tourism Agency during the 2012 an approximately 248, 996 European tourists visited the country, which won first place in the region, followed by Guatemala with a number of little more than 172 000 visitors.

The number of international arrivals to Nicaragua over 1.2 million, number representing an increase of 9.7%, and the European market registered 4.1% more tourists, mainly from Germany (9.3%) and France (7.2%).
In Panama, the number total visitors increased 4.1% in 2012 and that of Europeans was also higher, by registering 9.7% more tourists coming from the old continent El Salvador, according to data provided by the Ministry of tourism, it received more than 1.7 million tourists, 6.3% more than during 2011.

Airline IBERIA baptizes plane with the name of "Costa Rica"

The air company Iberia will give the name "Costa Rica" to one of its eight aircraft, the second Airbus A330-300, its fleet that is expected to receive over the 2013 and 2014.

The integration of the "Costa Rica" aircraft is the second aircraft of the fleet which receives the company, the first of which received the name of Tikal, in tribute to the Maya archaeological sites of Guatemala, and joined the fleet on 15 February.

New modern designs have interiors refurbished in tourist and Executive classes, the Executive seats will rest into beds and economy class will have direct access to the Hall.
In the last month the Spanish airline made the announcement of increasing its supply of seats for flights from the Costa Rican capital to Madrid by 6% during the year 2013.
