In seven months growth in exports totaled $ 6.742 million.

Export sales of Costa Rican products reached $ 6,742 million during the first seven months of the year, which means an increase of 10% over the same period of 2011.

The International Trade Office (PROCOMER), provided the overall results which shows a boost in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries, and industry and market diversification.
The authorities also highlighted the export growth of 107% to China, where they send electronics destination for microprocessors, orange pulp, electrical cables, wood, fruit juices and concentrates, among others.
According to an expert from PROCOMER, diversification of export products has allowed an increase, despite the problems of the European Union.
Exports to North America that is the destination for 42% of assets, rose 7.7% from July last year, highlighting the sales of electronic components for microprocessors, other medical devices and needles and catheters that increased $ 74.0 million, $ 57.7 million and $ 48.9 million respectively.
In the case of the European Union which accumulated 18.5% of the country's sales abroad, exports rose 10.1% between January and July of the successful product of electronic components for microprocessors (grew $ 74, 2 million), infusion and transfusion serums ($ 24.6 million) and coffee ($ 17.7 million).
PROCOMER noted that in the Old Continent  also had significant growth shipments of medical prostheses, palm oil and other medical devices.
Sales to Central America, representing 13.8% of total exports, rose 6.7%, due to products like diapers ($ 32.5 million) and rods of iron or steel ($ 17.8 million).
Asia accumulates 13% of total exports. It sold $ 202.2 million in microprocessors and electronic components for more than $ 12 million in electric cables.
