Chilean companies visit Costa Rica to strengthen trade ties │ Costadevelopers.com

Chile is one of the countries with better indexes both commercial human development in the region as Latin American.

According to the data of the Ministry of foreign trade of Costa Rica, during the year 2012, exports to Chile reached $25.7 million and imports from that country $291,3 billion.

On the other hand, exports to Central America and the Caribbean increased by 17% since 2009.

Among other activities the business meeting "I S Chile" is organized by ProChile and also includes a seminar, technical workshops and wheels of negotiation.

#SanJose will have the tallest #building of #CostaRica │ #costadevelopers

Authorities will allocated 350 million colones for the strengthening of tourist police


Costa Rican Institute of tourism and the Ministry of public security join forces to strengthen the safety of the tourists.
The Ministry of public security and the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism alliance seeks to create a safer environment for all tourists visiting the main touristic destinations in Costa Rica.
costa developersOver the next few years, the Government will allocate 350 million colones ($700K) to be distributed as part of the new cooperation agreement signed by both entities.
Allan Flores, Tourism Minister, said this partnership seeks to strengthen the image of the country as a safe tourist destination.
"This strategic alliance has been of vital importance for the country, since as part of these agreements, the Ministry of public security has increased the number of members of the tourist police to ensure that they are distributed in the most important of the country tourist areas, ensuring as well as an environment safe, specialized for domestic and foreign tourists care", said Flores.
At the same time, the Minister of public safety, Mario Zamora, said that there is a commitment of the police with people who visit Costa Rica, either national or foreigners, and this promotes further investment to the country. "A safe country is an attractive country that generates investment and development and from the Chinchilla Miranda administration we are seriously committed to the safety of Costa Ricans and foreigners," said Zamora.
Some of the elements that will be strengthened and/or contributed to the tourist police are: new Walkie-Takies, uniforms, four-wheel vehicles and mountain motorcycles, among others.
Police officers currently working in the tourism sector also will participate in training programs, which promises a transformation of the tourist police in a much more professional Guild, is also expected to receive the visit of foreign professionals who collaborate with the process of professionalization of the tourist police in the country for the coming months.

Costa Rica will see revitalization of industry in 2013


This year 2013 promises to attract large amount of foreign investment which will be allocated to different sectors of the national economy.
The year 2012 was characterized in Costa Rica by the large influx of foreign investment and large buildings, offi-centers and hotels developments, not only in the tourist regions but also in the capital.

The Central Bank indicated that at the end of the year 2013 foreign direct investment would reach $2 250 million, which corresponds to a 2.27% above what was estimated in 2012.

Sectors where the investments will focus will be distributed in different sectors, for example 25% will be allocated to the sector of high technology, clean energy, and services that will be installed in zones. Residential projects will also be included in the sectors of Escazú and coastal as the Central Pacific and Guanacaste, establishment of shopping centers and hotels.

The real estate firm Colliers International, commented with outstanding artworks in the country that seek to end this year; in the 2011 consolidated the construction of 142 846 square meters and in 2012 about 964 103.

Sonesta Hotel and Casino aims to be the most significant hotel development of the greater Metropolitan Area and is scheduled to open in the first half of the year; with an investment of 40 million dollars and 171 rooms at 1500 square meters.

Costa Rica, the best destination for investment in services in Latin America


Costa Rica is number one destination in Latin America for investment in services and also the thirteenth in the world, according to information from Costa Rican official sources, and global consultancy Tholons.
Costa EsterillosCINDE (Coalition for development initiatives), entity responsible for attracting investment to Costa Rica, said in a press release that this Central American country stood out as the best in the region in the list of the 100 best destinations for outsourced services of Tholons operations, in 2013.

The classification is carried out by specialists in business and reflects the dynamics and development of countries as venues for service companies.

The best destination for investment in services in the world is India, with cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai; followed by Philippines, Ireland, Poland and China.

In the Latin American region the destinations more attractive to this type of investment are Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Argentina.

In accordance with Tholons, Costa Rica showed an improvement of five positions in the index with respect to the 2012 and has established itself as a key player in the industry of corporate services and technologies of information in the Latin American region and in the world.

Consultant firm says good part of the Costa Rican success is due to the strong promotion of the sector of information technology and outsourced corporate services (outsourcing).

Anabel González, Minister of foreign trade, expressed her satisfaction at the "international recognition that this index gives the country in an industry that has become a key piece of the national economy".

For its part, the general director of CINDE, Gabriela Llobet, clarified that the listing of Tholons clearly reflects the great progress that has been Costa Rica as the venue for high value-added service operations.
"Today compete directly with locations very strong industry all over the world such as India, Malaysia, Poland and Ireland," said.
