Travel and Leisure international magazine chose Playa Carrillo in Guanacaste, as one of the best beaches of the world. It emphasized on the region’s poor development and also highlighted the paradisaical as a true oasis in the Nicoya peninsula.
In the story, writer says this is a relaxed village of fishing, of white sand and surrounded by mountains with a palm tree boulevard. Other beaches chosen by the publication include La Pedrera in Uruguay, Matagorda in Texas, Happy Bay, St. Martin, Lord Howe Island in Australia, and Ibo Island in Mozambique.
