Costa Developers | Environmentally friendly constructions grow in the country
Sustainable building is a new opportunity to promote more efficient construction developments
According to an interview to La República with Pietro Stagno from Luz de Piedra, he says environmentally sustainable or friendly buildings called the attention of businessmen and representatives of the sector. Buyers expressed more frequently interest in this type of techniques.
In addition to complying with the environmental commitment, the cost of an eco-friendly house is competitive relative to a normal one.
To unify criteria, a group of businessmen and representatives of Chambers wrote a code, which contains the standards to be met by the contractor so that the construction can declare eco-friendly.
This initiative was born more than 10 years ago, aims to generate a positive impact on the nature and lower costs.
However, is not so far that the technique is endorsed by the Institute of technical standards and accepted by the association of architects and engineers.
The development of this technique is carried out by Bruno Stagno, who named this code reset, which means requirements for sustainable buildings in the tropics. He had also the support of the Institute for Tropical architecture and Carlos Álvarez, President of the engineers and architects professional association.
For compliance with this standard does not require the person concerned to invest in expensive technologies, you are rather encouraged to build national materials.
With Reset, the investment to build an eco-friendly building is almost the same as for a normal, said Alvarez.
Currently is used only by consulting firms for the design of houses both in urban land and mountains. Some of the precursor signatures are Bruno Stagno architects, Luz de PIedra and Terranum.
Terranum for example, works with modulations of block, steel profiles, aluminum, natural light and ventilation building on the direction of the prevailing winds, as well as the use of gardens. On the other hand, Luz de Piedra focuses on the impact to the ground, controlling the movements of land and vegetation layers.

It’s a good time for buying dollars in Costa Rica | Costa Developers
Alberto Font
Costa Rica’s Central Bank is trying to prevent the currency from falling below the lower-band limit of ₡500.
The dollar exchange rate fell again on Wednesday, continuing a downward trend in recent days.
On Tuesday, Costa Rica’s Central Bank intervened for second day the exchange market by buying dollars. The bank bought $34,000 on Monday and $1.8 million on Tuesday to prevent the currency from falling below the lower-band limit of ₡500.
At the Foreign Currency Negotiation Market (MONEX), the dollar traded at an average of ₡500.04.
Customers with dollar debt could benefit from this downward trend, say experts, who recommend that account holders with dollar loans make extra payments to decrease the debt amount. Those who receive a salary in dollars, however, are seeing their wages drop.
The exchange rate for Wednesday is:
Buy: ₡492.96
Sell: ₡503.66
Sell: ₡503.66

Japan donates 9 million dollars to protect preserved areas in Costa Rica
State Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT) and the Ministry of environment and energy (Minae) announced the donation in a statement and said that the money will be used for “the protection of national parks and protected wild land”. “In addition to improving the conditions of the different areas of conservation and national parks, will invest resources in the acquisition of computer tip, primarily to combat forest fires,” the bulletin said.
Among others, Manuel Antonio National Park on the Pacific coast and one of the most visited in the country, where will be invested in the construction of trails and the improvement of various services for tourists will benefit.
Money will also go to the shelter life Silvestre Isla San Lucas (Pacific) where an information and environmental education centre will be developed and built, restored access and trails, among other infrastructure works. CEO of the ICT, Juan Carlos Bourbon “tourism should represent the vehicle par excellence for the sustainable development of the country, human well-being and the preservation of our natural resources, so we welcome this substantial investment from the Japanese Government,” said in the statement.
Costa Rica, which houses the 4.5% of the world’s biodiversity, remains under protection nearly 30% of its land in national parks and different types of properties protected.
Also some recent studies by the by University of Alberta Canada and the National Fund for Forest Financing (FONAFIFO) revealed more than half of Costa Rica’s territory is covered by forest.
The Central Pacific is the most visited region by international and national tourists in Costa Rica, and also the most developed and urbanized one. Not only Manuel Antonio National Park but as well Jaco and Herradura are three of the favorite destinations for vacationing and real estate investment in Costa Rica, therefore it is a major concern of the national and local authorities to preserve one of its most valuable natural environments.
Costa Rica was visited last year by 2.19 million tourists, the highest number in the history of this nation of 4.3 million inhabitants, and which resulted in a growth of 4.6% compared with 2.1 million in 2010.
Also the Costa Rican government intensifies its actions towards maintaining continued growth that the national tourist industry experienced in the past 12 months. The Government’s efforts are concentrated to exceed the number of tourists who visited the country in 2011, year which recorded the leading increase in four years.

Costa Developers | Playa Carrillo in Guanacaste is one of the best beaches in the world
Travel and Leisure international magazine chose Playa Carrillo in Guanacaste, as one of the best beaches of the world. It emphasized on the region’s poor development and also highlighted the paradisaical as a true oasis in the Nicoya peninsula.
“Just south of the popular surfer’s paradise of Samara Beach, Playa Carrillo is one of the least developed spots on the Nicoya Peninsula. Framed by mountains, the laid-back fishing village has a white-sand beach just off a palm-lined boulevard (there are no unsightly beachfront developments). Known among divers for its excellent coral reef teeming with marine life, the beach is protected by rocky headlands, providing calm, warm water for swimmers. Accommodations such as El Sueno are off the beach, but quite reasonably priced. Don’t miss the La Selva Zoo and Bromeliad Gardens at the southern end of the bay” – wrote David A. Keeps on this article.
This is not the first time Travel and Leisure mentions Costa Rica on their website, it frequently makes announcements of travel options ans current offers to visit the country.
Many have written about their experiences while been in the country, such as:
Recently Travel and Leisure included Costa Rica as one of the premier destinations for those who enjoy Zip Lining, located in Nosara, named Miss Sky, Nosara. Eco tourism has been one of the most explored topics when writing about Costa Rica. Regardless the place you visit, nature conservation its always present.
“This jungle vision was so enchanting that I forgot I was completely wet, and I almost forgot that I’d have to descend the tree the same way I’d come up: a nerve-jangling journey in a tiny bosun’s chair attached to a pulley. The whole experience seemed to me the epitome of ecotourism—a gentle and conscientious trespass into another world.”-Marcel Theroux.
On July 2010, the same magazine chose Costa Rica as number one country for solo travelers, based on its safeness. “One of those rare countries without armed forces, Costa Rica gives fresh meaning to the term peaceful.”
